The Tarrant County Clerk charges $76 for a marriage license, payable by cash or card. Card payments carry a processing fee. Remember the 72-hour wait unless you bring a Twogether in Texas certificate.

Get married by a Justice of the Peace

Tarrant County's Justice of the Peace courts set their own wedding rules. Two examples:

• Justice of the Peace 3: $220, cash only. Ceremonies Monday, Wednesday and Friday after 1:00 p.m., business hours only. Book about two weeks ahead, after you have your license. Up to 30 people, counting children and photographers. See listing
• Justice of the Peace 7 (Mansfield): $200, cash only, during business hours. Evenings and weekends cost more. Send the court's wedding form and the office confirms within 24 to 48 hours. See listing
