Courthouse weddings in Dallas County

Get your license

The Dallas County Clerk issues licenses at the Records Building, 500 Elm Street, Suite 2100, Dallas, TX 75202. Phone (214) 653-7099. Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday; the clerk's page also lists a 7:30 a.m. opening on Mondays and Fridays. Fill out the application online first, note your order number, and walk in with it.

The fee is $80, or $21 with a Twogether in Texas certificate, which also waives the 72-hour wait.

Get married by a Justice of the Peace

Several Dallas County Justice of the Peace courts perform weddings. Justice of the Peace 3-2, at the North Dallas Government Center (6820 LBJ Freeway, Suite 2100), holds weekday ceremonies in English or Spanish. Walk-ins are taken as time allows and appointments are always honored. Witnesses aren't required, and the courtroom gallery seats 60. Weekend, holiday and after-hours ceremonies are available for a fee paid in advance. Contact: (214) 904-3042.

Other Dallas County courts, including 2-1, 3-1, 4-1 and 5-1, post their own ceremony details on the county website. Hours and fees differ by court, so call the one closest to you.
